You've probably noticed the Google ads are used on this site. Here is the reason why they are used.
The ads are here to make some money. Google's AdSense program is a very easy way to monetise your web site. This site originated very late last century... now instead of just putting a smile on other faces it is eventually started to make some money to pay for registration, web hosting, etc.
Google's AdSense policy prohibits me from disclosing exactly how much I earn. I can safely say that it's not going to buy me any luxuries but it goes towards the cost of maintaining this site.
The site's content is analysed and sophisticated algorythms suggests related adverts - take notice and check the accuracy.
Text adverts are mostly used so as not to gobble your bandwidth and make the page very slow in loading, in fact due to exhaustive testing the adverts are displayed after the bulk of the page has loaded. This accounts for the delay in the advert display.

- With Google's AdSense satisfaction is earned by the amount earned.
